Hi there,I\'m selling a slightly lost but very cool vintage double-sided poster.This was once part of a set of large, pull-down, educational wall posters/charts from a French school.This is poster number 35/36, titled \"Les Gratte-Ciel\" (Skyscrapers) and \"L\'Agriculture\" (Agriculture).They were both beautifully painted by the famous French illustrator and artist, Daniel Lordey. (1929-2017)This is a rare double-sided, thick paper poster from the 1950s with amazing vibrant images of skyscrapers in a stylised New York City, with a central focus on the Chevrolet car brand.
The poster also includes iconic businesses of the era such as Bond Clothing, Kennecott Copper Corporation, and Howard Clothes.
And it dates nicely with the 1951 film, Apache drums.
The other side is less exciting to some, Agriculture.Though it does beautifully show the fields being worked as a cooperative; remember, this was socialist France in the 1950s.It is very good condition, for its age, there is some minor foxing on the paper, and a few tears on the edges.It will appreciate being loved and framed after being stored rolled for so long.Please see the photos and feel free to ask any questions.Measuring 90 x 68 cm and printed in Lille in France by Lievin Danel, a notable printing company.From the net, thanks to babelio:\"Daniel Lordey was an illustrator and colorist.An official painter for the French Army, he is a leading expert on uniforms and ships.He has illustrated numerous books, including novels for young readers and scholarly works on the military and French history.\"
