Description:Available for purchase is a highly intricate, authentic antique tribal carving from the Dayak people of Borneo. This piece features masterfully executed, deeply undercut openwork craftsmanship.
Key Features:* Iconography: Features finely detailed, stacked human ancestor figures and protective spirits intertwined with traditional, prominent Naga (Serpent/Snake) protective motifs and central floral/star medallions.
* Form & Structure: The piece is carved fully in three dimensions on the front and sides, while the reverse back side remains flat, displaying historical transverse tool marks and the genuine weathered grain/inner core of the antler beam.
* Functional Elements: Includes a distinct suspension hole at the narrow top tip (traditionally used for hanging), along with structural attachment holes along the column used for lashing ritual charms, fibers, or securing it flush to a surface.
Condition Note:Please note there is a historic break/loss at the very bottom tip.
