Rare antique Japanese Kutani porcelain figure depicting an elegantly dressed geisha seated beside a tall traditional hibachi charcoal brazier.
This substantial figural sculpture is richly hand-painted in vibrant pink, purple, blue, yellow and multicolor enamels. Beautiful details include the geisha’s floral kimono, elaborate checkered obi, delicately painted facial features and simulated glowing charcoal atop the hibachi. The circular opening is an original part of the tall hibachi’s design.
The underside retains its original “Made in Japan” paper label. This scarce Japanese export form makes a striking display piece for collectors of Kutani porcelain, Japanese decorative arts, geisha figures and Asian antiques.
Approximate measurements:
• 11 inches tall
• 9 inches long

Good antique condition overall. There is noticeable peeling and loss to the black painted finish on the top portion of the hair, as clearly pictured. No cracks or chips otherwise. Additional light surface wear is consistent with age. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
