An exceptional New Old Stock example of the Spirit of St. Louis Collector Series Wireless Valve Radio, Model 541.837, preserving the charm and craftsmanship of early wireless communications while incorporating dependable late-1990s electronics.
Manufactured by Polyflame Concepts U.S.A., Inc. for a limited production run during 1996–1997, this model faithfully captures the appearance of a 1920s wireless field receiver with a richly finished wood cabinet, decorative nickel-tone corner protectors, illuminated imitation vacuum tubes, oversized tuning controls, and a backlit analog dial.
Hidden within the cabinet is a fully integrated AM/FM radio and side-mounted cassette player, allowing the vintage design to remain true to its period-inspired appearance.
This piece was purchased at an estate from a collector, it is Old New stock , just without a box. Supposed to be fully functional (was told by seller) including the radio, cassette player, dial illumination, and illuminated faux tubes.
It appears unused and retains its original factory Styrofoam packing inserts and paperwork, making it highly desirable for collectors of Spirit of St. Louis electronics, vintage-inspired radios, aviation memorabilia, and industrial décor.
