A stunning necklace showcasing a rare tumbaga male figure bell from the Diquis Region, Southern Zone in Costa Rica. Very few figural bells for sale out there.
Background: I bought 2 necklaces with tumbaga figures. The seller said they came from an estate of a man who lived in Central America for 40 plus years who unearthed these figures in Costa Rica. The seller had them strung by local artisans there to be wearable. When I got them, they were well loved. The gold beads were plastic and the coating was worn off.
I salvaged the green and blue glass beads and bronze colored beads. I added the gold plated beads, antique rock quartz crystal beads and new gold plated sterling clasp.
The green glass beads have gold foil in them suggesting they may be Murano. The antique quartz beads are hand drilled from both ends.
