Antique Lucy Gray wooden cigar box from Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania, associated with cigar maker Henry D. Hackman.
The interior lid features a colorful 5¢ “Lucy Gray” lithograph with a Scottish-dressed woman surrounded by scenic artwork and the advertising phrases “Great Value” and “Real Mild.” The box also retains extensive original Lucy Gray branding and decorative trim around the exterior.
The front is marked “Perfecto (Foil),” and the box carries surviving factory/tax markings and period tobacco advertising throughout.
Online cigar label resources indicate values of over $200 for the Lucy Gray label itself, which speaks to the desirability of the artwork and brand among collectors. This box retains the original label in place rather than as a loose example.
