Vintage Nambe serving bowl stamped 118B, but uniquely shaped like a Bowtie or Nambe 676 - not the standard heart shape of 118B.
-Rare variation is crafted from Nambe's signature aluminum alloy with a silver polished finish. It is a blend of aluminum and several other undisclosed metals. This alloy gives the pieces a silver-like luster, strength comparable to iron, and resistance to tarnishing, chipping and peeling. This alloy is crafted through a 15-step casting process involving sand casting and hand polishing
-This is part of the Classic butterfly bowtie bowl - Nambe 676 which is part of the iconic butterfly collection designed by Richard K. Thomas (Note: there was an anomoly in that it is stamped 118B (heart shaped) and it is definitely a 676 or bowtie shaped bowl.
-It measures approximately 10 1/4" long x 5 3/4" wide (at widest spot) x 2 1/4" tall
-It was made in the 1980's - 1990's
-Great decorator piece for collectors of mid-century modern serveware or unusual Nambe designs
Condition:
Great, with light surface wear consistent with age. There is a spot of roughness on one end, some water spots and it has some scratches. It needs cleaned but overall in great shape!- Notes: May be a factory anomaly, mis-stamp, or rare variant — perfect for discerning collectors seeking unique pieces. (Since it is stamped as a heart shaped bowl - 118B and is actually a bowtie shaped bowl - 676)
