Featuring traditional South Asian lacquerware artistry, this set is a stunning statement piece perfect for bohemian, eclectic, or Hollywood Regency interior styles.
The Bases
The urn-shaped baluster bases are made from molded papier-mâché pulp and finished with a smooth protective lacquer glaze. They boast an incredibly detailed Hazara ("thousand flowers") floral pattern intricately hand-painted in emerald green and gold. The central portion of each base displays ornate medallion accents bordered by fine gold leaf scrollwork over a shimmering golden-bronze base coat.
The Original Shades
Original matching shades for these lamps are almost impossible to find intact. These empire-style shades feature a spectacular mixed-media textured collage technique. Finely layered organic paper fibers and metallic gold leaf fragments form an abstract, mosaic pattern. When turned on, the varying thickness of the paper scatters light to produce a warm, glowing, stained-glass visual effect.
