Rare Original Soviet Challenge Banner – 60th Anniversary of the USSR (1982)
Up for sale is an authentic, vintage Soviet "Challenge Banner" (Переходящее знамя). This is a high-quality historical artifact used to reward labor collectives for outstanding achievements in the "Socialist Competition."
Historical Significance:
This specific banner was produced to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (1922–1982), as indicated by the "60 СССР" embroidery on the reverse side.
Design & Details:
- Front Side: Features a high-quality embroidered portrait of Vladimir Lenin and the slogan: "Challenge Banner for High Results in Socialist Competition" (Переходящее знамя за высокие показатели в социалистическом style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">
- Reverse Side: Features the State Emblem of the Soviet Union (Hammer and Sickle) with the text: "60 Years USSR – Glory to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics!" (60 лет СССР – Слава Союзу Советских Социалистических Республик!).
