Rare Vtg Stangl Pottery Sunshine Pattern Lidded Sugar Bowl Ceramic Hand Pntd For Sale

This rare vintage Stangl Pottery lidded sugar bowl in the Sunshine pattern is a beautiful addition to any kitchen or dining room. The piece was made as part of a set during the 1970's in Trenton, New Jersey. The piece is discontinued and Stangl pottery closed its doors in 1978. The sugar bowl is made of pure white ceramic and has the floral pattern lightly etched into the surface. Inside the etching on both side of the bowl are hand painted yellow flowers with brown centers and green leaves. The lid has 2 bands in green and yellow around the edge. With the lid on the bowl stands at 4" tall. Without the lid, it is 2 3/4" tall. The bowl has double handles and is 6" wide from handle to handle. It is 4 3/4" in diameter with a 3 1/2" open mouth making it easy to fill. It is 2" deep inside. The bowl sits on a short-footed base and has a pretty scalloped top edge. The bottom is stamped in brown with the pottery name, location, pattern name, "hand painted" and "since 1805". The artist's initials are also hand painted on the bottom. The piece is in excellent condition. There is age crazing on the handles only (see last 2 photos).There is no other damage, no chips, cracks, repairs, or flea bites. This pretty sugar bowl is ideal for collectors of vintage and handmade kitchen ware. Its classic design fits well with nearly any decor theme and is perfect to use or display year-round. This unique piece is rare to find in the Sunshine pattern and sure to be a standout in any collection.
