Rare WWI Colt 1911 Barrel P H 5 J Marking Bright Sharp Bore 1915-1917 Production:
$750.00

This is a phenomenal, premium-tier specimen perfect for a high-end restoration project to bring a mismatched 1915–1917 "Black Army" or brush-blued military pistol back to its factory-correct configuration.Verified Historical Markings & Features:
Chamber Top:
Features the highly collectible vertical "P H" interlocking combination.
The "P" (military proof) sits directly above a crisp, distinct "H" (prover/inspector mark for Frank L. Hosmer, chief Colt ordnance inspector during WWI).
Under the Chamber:
Features a sharp, factory-stamped number "5" control mark directly forward of the link pin hole, identifying this as an early-to-mid WWI production run component.
Lower Lug:
Features the correct, crisp "J" operational/inspector stamp on the rear vertical face of the lower lug foot.
Link & Pin:
Includes the original barrel link and pin assembly.
Condition Details:Bore Condition:
Excellent Plus. The internal bore is exceptionally bright and sharp with deep, crisp, well-defined rifling lands. It is entirely free of the heavy pitting, dark frosting, or smooth wear that plagues most century-old military barrels that shot corrosive ammunition.
Exterior Finish:
Retains an honest amount of its original deep blued finish.
It exhibits classic, natural mechanical wear patterns along the top and sides from cycling smoothly against a slide, showing excellent historic character without any harsh sanding, modern cold-blue touch-ups, or pitting.
Five inch full length barrel
