About our products:
The fabrication of this bronze miniature follows a detailed, skilled process. This results in both high quality and authenticity. The piece is created using natural bronze, which is melted at temperatures exceeding 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Californian Artisans use the lost-wax casting method. A detailed model is first shaped from wax and encased in a mold. Then, the wax is melted out and replaced with molten bronze, forming a replica of the original model. After casting, each figurine is carefully cleaned and deburred to remove excess metal. Then, they are joined (brazed), tumbled to smooth the surface, treated with an antiquing solution, artistically hand-painted, and finally waxed to protect and highlight the surface patina.

About the Owner of Heirloom Editions Ltd.
After Mr. Ludwig Redl Sr. passed away, his son, Ludwig Redl—a well-known sculptor and UC Santa Barbara professor—moved the Redl Factory molds for the Cats, Frogs, and Dachshunds bronze miniatures from Austria to Santa Barbara, California. Following this transition, significant changes were implemented in the business and production processes. To set these pieces apart from the Vienna Bronze Industry in Austria, Ludwig Redl and Barbara Ringer (my mother), then owners of Heirloom Editions Ltd (HE), decided to partially cold-cast and hand-paint certain features, such as musical instruments and ornaments, while patinating the bodies to achieve a rich brown-bronze look. This approach also helped lower costs and made the miniatures more affordable. Heirloom Editions Ltd has a longstanding history of craftsmanship and dedication to quality, establishing a trusted reputation among collectors and art enthusiasts since [1980].
My History with Heirloom Editions Ltd.
My work experience with HE started in 1776 and ended in 2006. Thisincludes sales management and running various manufacturing processes. and the history of Heirloom Editions. I have traveled to numerous manufacturers and served as sales manager for both trade shows and conventions during my time with the company, aiming to foster trust and transparency with our customers.
