This is something people never think about. Suppose you have a small gathering of friends and you don't own this huge house (and the bills to go with it) and you have a small, cozy flat. You can't use these huge serving dishes because there's not enough room on the table. And so then you find yourself using your personal bowls to serve up shared dishes.
