Gorgeous Antique Lamps
Gorgeous antique condition!A true antique / vintage pair of lamps by the Houzex glass company.So cute!
Rewired with period correct new cloth covered wire and Bakelite plugs and ready for their new life with you.(The gold cloth wire does have a few little marks here and there, which won't be noticed when in use.)
Beautiful swirling glass that glows under a UV light, which shows there is uranium in the glass lamp bases.They still have their original Houzex stickers on the underside!The shades are frosted and have lovely leaf details, and are stamped Holophane.
The brass Edison sockets have been taken apart, cleaned inside and out, freshly rewired, tested and are working great.Each uses one standard-base light bulb up to 60 watts or use LED bulbs for any brightness you like as they use low wattage for bright light (bulbs not included).
Markings:The sockets have the E with the arrow through it (Edison)The lamps have the Houzex Glass Products stickersThe shade holders are stamped Hubbell and have patent dates of Feb 23, '04 (which is 1904)The shades are stamped Holophane 8072
No chips or cracks in the shades.One lamp base has a small chip underneath, and the other has a small imperfection or chip at the brass neck - nothing noticed unless inspecting (see closeups).One lamp has felt pads on 2 of the feet.
Measurements:Total height - base to the top of the shade: 13 1/4"The uranium glass base itself is 6 3/4" tall (glass itself, showing) and 10" to the top of the shade holderThe base of the lamp measures 4 1/8" across at the points, 3 7/8" at the straight sidesThe shades are 6" wide, 3 1/2" tall and have 2 1/4" fitters for the holders
