Set of 2 Vintage MCM Otagiri Roadrunner Cacti Desert Speckled Stoneware Mugs For Sale

This is a set of 2 vintage Otagiri stoneware coffee mugs featuring a desert roadrunner pattern. The light gray/stone colored, speckled ceramic cups are illustrated with 2 roadrunners and 4 cacti on each and finished with brown trim along the rims and handles. While they have a charming, rustic \"studio pottery\" look, they were commercially slip-cast in molds for mass production by the Otagiri Mercantile Company (OMC) in Japan, but the roadrunners, trim, and protective glazes were applied by hand by artisans in the factory - so no two mugs are exactly alike. The condition of this pair is excellent with no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
