South Omaha, Nebr. A.O.U.W Temple Lost Landmark on 1901-07 German-made Postcard For Sale

The AOUW was a fraternal benefit society, primarily for working-class men. It was a place for social gathering, intellectual development and a financial safety net that provided mutual insurance policies. The group was most active in South Omaha between 1897 and 1907, but had declined by the late 1940s, due to the availability of commercial insurance, and officially dissolved in 1952.
