First Appearing at the turn of the century in The Sentry #1 (Vol 1, 2000), Robert "Bob" Reynolds is a middle-aged man with severe underlying psychological problems, addiction, and the "power of one million exploding suns" -- a power that he acquired as the result of his taking -- or being given - a special serum. He is -- and had been for quite some time, THE SENTRY, a superhero, one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe. He is also THE VOID, a supervillain and the arch-enemy of Sentry, the one villain that Sentry is never able to fully conquer. Indeed, The Void is often portrayed as an external manifestation of The Sentry's power, thus signifying the awesome power levels Reynolds possesses.
Yet despite the profound effect that Sentry and The Void would have in the lives of everyone living on Earth, no one knows who either are, or recalls them from every having been.
