Two antique / vintage silk embroiderys buth showing floral garden scenes, one containing a thatched cottage.The are housed in verre eglomise frames.Overall good condition with age related wear, one with some small losses to black verre eglomise ground.
Both frames with small holes added to the bottom.
I would think they date to the early 20th century.
The reverse with labels for Arthur Whitcombe & Co Ltd; printseller, picture frame maker and gilder. 12 Colonnade, Cheltenham.
Rather Whitcombe relocated his business in 1846 entirely to Cheltenham. His primary premises were located at 11 and 12 Clarence Street, trading under names like Arthur Whitcombe's Fine Art Galleries. Later records show the business continuing into the early 20th century, occasionally trading as The Cheltenham Fine Art Gallery.
