Item: US Army Vietnam Special Forces Advisor "Silver" Tiger Stripe Camo Shirt
Size/Markings: Stamped "A-L" for an Asian Large at the inside neck, andmeasures 19" from underarm to underarm across the chest, 18.5" from shoulder to shoulder across the back, 26 1/8" from the collar/body seam to the bottom of the hem down the back, and with a 20 7/8" sleeve from the shoulder to the end of the cuff.
Condition: This shirt is in Very Good Condition. A 4" diagonal stitched repair along the lower right front. Two small nicks in the lower left front. A 1/2" vertical tear to the third from bottom front button hole. A light, even overall fade. Retains a great amount of the original "silver" pattern tiger stripe camouflage colors. Features single exposed button flap closure boxed chest pockets, button cuffs, and a matching tiger stripe camo hanging loop at the inside neck. Sports all of the original flat rimmed "shaved edge" OD plastic buttons throughout. Medium weight 100% cotton twill construction.
Historical Background:US Army Special Forces advisors and Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol "LRRPs" in Vietnam were allowed great leeway in their choice of uniforms, leading many to don tiger stripe camouflage for its menacing elegance and effective concealment in the field.
