The Laughing Buddha is based on a 10th-century Chinese monk known for his happiness, eccentric behavior, and bag of possessions. He represents happiness, contentment, abundance, and good luck. The children in the statue symbolize fertility, luck, and happiness. According to Feng Shui, placing the Laughing Buddha facing the main door brings good luck and prosperity.
