VINTAGE FEDERAL IGA FOODLINER GLASS PROMOTIONAL ASHTRAY 1970\'s PROMOTIONALThis vintage promotional ashtray measuring just 3 1/2 inches and was given out at local Federal IGA Foodliners (grocery stores) during the 1970\'s. This one likely comes from either the Farmington or Flat River (now Park Hills), Missouri, as we had one in each town in our county during that period of time. Unfortunately, those local grocers along with Woolworth\'s and other small stores closed during the 1980\'s with the expansion of Wal-Mart into our area because they simply count not compete.
This ashtray is in very good condition in that the glass is crisp, clean and clear, the logo is bright red and unfaded. I do note some minor paint loss in the red logo (see photos) as well as some fleabites an a small chip around the inside rim of the ashtray at the bottom only. The fleabites did not photograph well so I marked up a photos to show the area these defects are located. The outside of the ashtray is smooth with no chips, fleabites or other issues. The glass ashtray displays well and is a great souvenir marking the heavy tobacco industry during the 1970\'s; as well as the era of smaller food chains like Federal IGA Foodliner.
