VINTAGE Winfield Pasadena Ceramic Thumbprint Tumblers For Sale

These cups are modern, wheel-thrown ceramic thumbprint tumblers featuring a matte sand-colored exterior glaze and a contrasting glossy turquoise or teal interior.While mid-century California manufacturers like Winfieldfrequently utilized a distinct blush-and-turquoise or cream-and-teal palette, these specific pieces are contemporary studio pottery. They feature functional, indented "thumbprint" or "dimple" areas designed to comfortably rest in the hand during use. They are each 3" tall and 2.75" diameter. One of the pair is incised on the bottom "Winfield Pasadena #109". The "Pasadena" mark places these pieces precisely between 1929 and 1946. In 1946 the main pottery operations moved to Santa Monica and the company transitioned to "Winfield Ware," making these early Pasadena-marked items very scarce and highly sought after by collectors of California pottery.
