Authentic vintage U.S. military M-1947 (M-47) cold weather parka / overcoat, dating to the late 1940s–early 1950s, Korean War era.
Classic olive drab cotton shell with attached hood, four-pocket front, buttoned storm placket, heavy TALON metal zipper, adjustable button-tab cuffs, drawcord hood and rear waist belt tunnel. Handwritten serviceman identification/name tape remains sewn to the chest.
Natural fade and patina on this along with original repairs as found from original owner. Some fabric glue was used in a couple spots on the back. Frayed at the cuffs.
The original removable pile body liner and waist belt are missing. Pile remains within the hood as shown. Interior contract/manufacturer label is no longer present/legible, so an exact contract year cannot be determined.
A fantastic original early post-WWII U.S. military parka with a heavily worn, genuinely distressed appearance. Great piece for a military collection or worn as an authentic vintage field coat.
Condition: worn/distressed vintage condition. Fraying at cuffs and edges, scattered holes, stains/marks, paint, repairs and surface wear throughout. Zipper and hardware pictured. Sold as found.
