Very cool vintage Fort Pitt Beer lighted advertising sign, measuring approximately 18” wide x 9” tall. The clear etched acrylic/Lucite-style panel reads “FORT PITT – THE BETTER BEER.” When illuminated from the base, the lettering and edges light up and give the sign a great old-school tavern/bar display look.
The sign is not perfect and is priced accordingly. The outer portion of the metal housing/base is missing, leaving the inner metal housing exposed as shown in the photos. The clear acrylic/Lucite panel has surface scuffs and scratches throughout, consistent with age and use. The sign does light up as shown, although there is an audible buzz coming from the ballast while operating.
Even with the missing outer housing, this is still a really neat display piece. The 18” x 9” size makes it easy to display on a shelf, bar, countertop, or in a brewery/beer advertising collection, and the etched illuminated lettering presents especially well when lit.
