Up for sale is an exceptionally rare, authentic piece of United States Marine Corps history. Unlike the common U.S. Army variants found online, this M-1951 (M51) field coat features the highly sought-after "MARINE CORPS SUPPLY ACTIVITY" nomenclature on the internal lower tag.
Fabric: Heavy, durable 9oz wind-resistant cotton sateen in classic OG-107 (Olive Green Shade 107).
Hardware: Aluminum Talon zipper is fully intact with its original pull string, working front snaps, and original "DOT" stamped brass snap fasteners by United-Carr.
Redundancy Closure: Triple-closure system utilizing the main zipper, snap fasteners, and internal buttons.

CONDITION SPECIFICS:
This jacket is in excellent vintage condition for its age with a beautifully preserved, fully legible internal contract label and strong fabric showing beautiful, light natural fading. The main zipper and all metal snaps function properly. One internal plastic button is cracked in half, and the internal waist drawstring located between the pockets is missing from the midsection channel. Neither of these internal details affects the exterior look or your ability to securely close the coat. No major rips or stains; Please See Photos!
