Offered is an original vintage 1983 Care Bears Birthday Bear ceramic figurine from the American Greetings Designers Collection. This charming early Care Bears collectible features Birthday Bear holding a colorful birthday cupcake with a candle, standing on a green floral-style base.

This is an especially nice piece for collectors of early 1980s Care Bears, American Greetings collectibles, vintage ceramic figurines, and nostalgic character memorabilia.

CONDITION – PLEASE READ

This is an original vintage piece with substantial age-related paint loss and wear, and the condition is clearly shown in the photographs.

There is extensive flaking and loss of the original painted finish, particularly across the belly and cupcake design. There is also noticeable paint loss/wear to the white muzzle and cheeks, ears, yellow body, candle/cupcake, feet and green base. There are additional scuffs, marks and areas of discoloration consistent with its age and previous use/display.

The ceramic figure itself appears complete, with the cupcake, candle, arms, legs, ears and base intact. I do not see an obvious major structural break in the photographs.

Please examine ALL photographs carefully because the photographs are an important part of the condition description.

This piece has NOT been repainted or restored. The worn, flaking finish is the original vintage surface as received.

Despite the significant paint wear, this is an early 1983 American Greetings Care Bears Designers Collection piece, making it considerably more interesting to vintage Care Bears collectors than a later reproduction or modern figure.

The original American Greetings / Designers Collection / 1983 / Made in Taiwan marking is visible on the underside and helps authenticate and date the piece.
