Up for sale is a beautiful, highly detailed vintagemid-century loose powder compact manufactured in Denmark by the renownedsilversmith Hans Jensen.
This stunning vanity piece features Jensen's highlysought-after, intricate repousse motif on the lid, depicting atraditional Dutch or Danish village tavern gathering. The design featuresincredible depth, highlighting multiple figures, a cottage exterior, and asmall dog.
Condition & Details:
- Exterior: The ornate silver-plate lid has a wonderful natural antique patina, retaining the original dark contrasting shading in the crevices that brings the embossed scene to life. The hinge and latch function perfectly and close securely.
- Interior: Features an incredibly clean internal glass mirror with excellent clarity and almost no clouding or silver loss. The lower powder well is clean with just minimal remnants of vintage face powder.
- Included Accessory: Includes the highly elusive, original circular mesh sifter screen insert with its pull-tab, which is almost always lost over time. (Note: Fabric powder puff is not included).
