This listing is for a vintage Japanese Yosegi puzzle box with Mt Fuji and a lake scene on the top. The bottom side of the box has a pair of what appear to be Scottish Terriers. The four outward sides have a beautiful and intricate Japanese Yosegi pattern. There is additional Yosegi pattern on the face of the drawer.
The box has two secret compartments. The top compartment must be opened to access the drawer compartment. Some musical Asian chimes are heard when pulling the drawer out and when putting it back.
The box measures about 6 inches long, 4 inches deep, and 2-3/4 inches tall. It weighs 10.9 ounces.
The box has some wear to the exterior including scratches and scuffs. Some of the Yosegi pattern is missing on the face of the interior drawer. The box is still functional and working. Please see photos.
