Offered is a large vintage railroad uniform button collection featuring approximately 40+ different buttons from numerous U.S. and Canadian railroads and related railroad companies.
Included are more than 40 vintage railroad uniform buttons representing numerous U.S. and Canadian railroads and railroad-related companies, including cuff, coat and others. There are a few duplicate railroad examples, and some of the same railroad or RRs in different sizes or styles. See photos.
Many buttons retain clearly marked backs from period manufacturers including Scovill, Waterbury Button Co., Superior Quality and others. I have included detailed front and back photos so buyers can examine the backmarks, shanks, construction and condition.
Most appear to date from approximately the early to mid-1900s, although individual buttons may be earlier or later. These came together as a collector’s display and are being sold exactly as shown. The backs can be matched up to the front of the buttons by following the photos and rows of buttons.
Condition varies from very good to well-used, with normal age-related wear, tarnish and patina. Some shanks show wear or oxidation. Nothing has been polished or restored.
A very interesting group for a railroadiana, uniform-button, transportation or historical memorabilia collector.
