Beautiful vintage set of four blue and white Chinese porcelain rice bowls, made in Jingdezhen, China, a city celebrated for centuries as one of China’s most important centers of porcelain production.
These charming bowls feature a traditional cobalt-blue floral design centered by a stylized blossom and foliage motif. Pale translucent “rice grain” or “rice eye” details are incorporated into the porcelain body, creating the delicate spotted effect visible throughout the sides of the bowls when held to the light.
A geometric blue border encircles the exterior rim, while additional blue floral decoration surrounds the foot. The combination of blue-and-white porcelain, translucent rice-grain detailing, and traditional Chinese-inspired ornament gives the bowls a classic and highly decorative appearance.
