Vintage 1930's Porcelain Lamp with Birds & Large Silk Floral Shade Antique Style Silk CordExceptional vintage circa 1930's porcelain table lamp, beautifully decorated with delicate applied porcelain flowers, leaves, blossoms and charming birds/doves. The elegant matte white porcelain body is complemented by an ornate gilt-tone decorative base, creating a wonderfully romantic and feminine presentation.The lamp is paired with its original large oval silk floral shade, which is truly exceptional. The shade features beautiful dusty rose, blush, burgundy and mauve floral fabric in a paneled design, finished with decorative passementerie trim. The lower valance is extensively beaded with tiny glass beads forming floral motifs, accented with green and pink/red flowers and finished with long gold-tone bead fringe. The unusual oval shade shape, elaborate beadwork and exceptionally well-preserved condition make this a particularly distinctive vintage lamp.The lamp and shade have been kept together because they complement one another beautifully and create an especially striking finished piece.circa 1930's

There is a professionally executed repair to the tail of one of the applied birds/doves, a new leaf and flower; a faint mark remains visible upon close inspection. These repairs are shown in the photographs for complete transparency. There are also minor age-related surface marks consistent with vintage use.The original shade is also in remarkably good condition for its age, with beautiful color and extensive beadwork intact. The inner mauve satin lining shows a few very faint age-related spots, visible primarily upon close inspection, from the inside only and not distracting from the beautiful presentation of the shade. Please examine all photographs closely, as they provide an excellent representation of its condition and detail.The lamp has been completely rewired with new antique-style electrical components, including new silk-covered cord, socket with key and antique-style plug. The new wiring provides modern functionality while maintaining the appropriate period appearance of the lamp.
