Vintage Great Nagoya (大名古屋) Japanese souvenir postcard set, published by Kikkado of Nagoya, Japan, dating to the pre-WWII / 1930s era.
Includes 12 unused postcards with the original illustrated Great Nagoya cover. Cards feature historic views and landmarks throughout Nagoya, with captions printed in both English and Japanese. Subjects include Nagoya Castle, Atsuta Jingu Shrine, Nagoya Port, Tsurumai Park, Nakamura Park, Hirokoji Street with streetcars, Municipal Library, Rikuda Building, Higashi Honganji and other Nagoya scenes.
Several cards feature attractive period color tinting. An especially nice surviving group documenting prewar Nagoya, including architecture, streets, parks, temples, transportation and city life.
Cards are unused and remain together as shown. Vintage condition with expected age toning, light staining/spotting and edge wear. Original cover shows some corner and edge wear. Please review photos closely for exact condition.
