This piece is heavily inspired by traditional Chinese Famille Verte porcelain, featuring an ornate, vibrant lime-green ground intricately hand-painted with a multi-colored Bird of Paradise perched on blooming white and pink peony branches. The enameling is thickly applied and slightly raised, giving the pattern wonderful texture and depth.Designed without drainage holes, this low-profile vessel was originally intended as a Suiban for indoor flower arranging (Ikebana), a bulb dish, or a viewing stone tray.
