For sale a vintage and used Niagara Searchlight Co Junior Guide red lantern.
Tested and working, though the battery contacts, that are in surprisingly good condition (there is a good chance they are replacements, it was found like this) are somewhat finicky and may need minor adjustment for the light to work reliably.Laying the lantern on its back usually is the fastest way. It gives off abeautiful, warm glow. The interior has active surface rust and noticeablepitting, especially around the top rivet/grommet area, likely caused by pastbattery leakage, very common with these items. The exterior remains in goodcondition for its age, and the lamp itself is also in good shape with expectedwear. There is a bonus! The original paper label is still in place on theinside.

Enameled sheet metal / tin body with a glass lens and steelbrackets. Measuring a little over 3.5” tall, 3” long and 1.75” wide. Convenientlyoperates on two regular flashlight batteries (not included).
Side-mounted brass toggle switch to turn the light on/off.
Dual wire mounting brackets on the back (originally meantto slide onto a bicycle handlebar bracket or vehicle mount, but it also worksperfectly as a freestanding desk lantern).
