For sale is a sought-after Kadette Model 85, manufactured by International Radio Corp. This is a high-performance 8-tube superheterodyne model from the mid-1930s Art Deco era.
FUNCTIONAL CONDITION:
Recent garage find. I have tested the unit, and it POWERS ON. It produces a hum and static noise from the speaker. I haven\'t attempted to tune in stations, but the electronics are active.
COSMETIC & PARTS:
Dial: Features the beautiful original \"airplane\" style dial and brass bezel.
Cabinet: The wood cabinet is solid but shows wear. The original photo-finish on the side panels is peeling/missing in areas (see photos).
Missing: Knobs, grille cloth, and back panel are not included.
COLLECTOR\'S NOTE:
The Model 85 is a more desirable chassis due to the high tube count (8 tubes). Great candidate for a full electronic and cabinet restoration.
