Up for sale is a vintage lot of three (3) authentic United States Air Force uniform buttons. This lot features two distinct styles used on vintage dress uniforms:1x Small Loop-Shank Button: Measures approx. 5/8\". Stamped on the reverse with the historically significant \"WATERBURY BUTTON CO. CONN.\" backmark. This specific \"Button Co.\" text dates the manufacturing of this button to the late 1940s or very early 1950s using transitional company metal blanks. It features an oxidized/subdued pewter-toned finish.2x Larger Screw-Back Buttons: Bright silver-toned finish. These feature a threaded post on the back instead of a sewing loop. These were specifically designed to attach to officer service dress visor caps (barracks covers) to secure the chin strap, or for uniform shoulder epaulets.Please note: They do not include the small backing nuts.Condition:
Good vintage, weathered condition. The front details (the 13 stars, eagle, and crest lines) remain incredibly crisp across all three pieces. One of the screw-back buttons shows typical minor plating wear along the outer rim. Natural aging and background tarnish are present, providing an excellent historic patina.
