Vintage 1940s BURWOOD PRODUCTS Rustic Squirrel Syroco Style Pen Stand or Penholder
This wonderful pen stand has its own sculpted squirrel that was made to look just like it was carved out of wood with great natural textures. It is mostly composed of a cast plastic composite material that was made famous by Syracuse Ornamental Company or Syroco, although this item is marked with an attached label that says Burwood Products (of Traverse City, MI.) - the label is very worn and not much of the lettering remains.This combination piece measures 4-1/4\" length x 3-1/4” width x 3” height and it weighs about 7 ounces. The condition is very good for a vintage piece with little visible surface wear (except for the label), some edge wear and the penholder appears to have never been used. It is a great decorative and useful item on its own or as an addition to a collection.
