Up for sale is a beautiful, 100% complete, and FULLY WORKING 1950 Crosley Model 10-137 "Dashboard" tube radio. Famous for its mid-century styling that explicitly mimics a 1950s automobile instrument cluster, this iconic piece features a prominent central circular dial flanked by geometric control knobs.
Production & Authenticity Details:
True Model 10-137: While sun exposure and aged lacquer have given the exterior paint a charming vintage off-white/light yellow patina, checking underneath the internal chassis lip reveals the perfectly preserved original factory chartreuse / lime-green paint finish.
Dating & Identification: The chassis features factory-stamped production family 4520 and unique serial number 1763712. Additionally, the internal IF transformer utilizes mounting speed clips displaying U.S. Patent 2,452,422 (granted late 1948), placing the assembly line date firmly in 1950.
Condition & Operational Status:
Operational Status: WORKING! This radio powers on, the tubes warm up successfully, and it tunes into AM radio stations with strong audio volume. It retains its highly pristine, fully original internal electronics.
Cosmetics: Extremely clean and structurally sound. No cracks, major chips, or deep gouges in the cabinet body. The original masonite back panel is completely intact with legible model labels on the underside. Original knobs and dial pointer are present.
Interior / Chassis: Exceptionally clean engine bay with very minimal chassis corrosion. Features a pristine original loop antenna, factory speaker setup, and a complete set of vintage glass miniature tubes (including an original orange-lettered RCA 12BE6). Includes the authentic golden "Union Made" assembly label on the chassis rim.
