Beautiful vintage Meito China covered sugar bowl, made in Japan and dating to approximately the 1950s.
This ornate porcelain piece features hand-painted multicolor floral decoration against a soft ivory ground, accented with elaborate gold gilt scrollwork. The elegant footed form is finished with two sculpted handles and a fitted lid topped by a decorative gold finial.
A particularly attractive example of mid-century Japanese export porcelain, with a romantic, traditional look that displays beautifully on its own or alongside vintage china and tea service pieces.

CONDITION:
Very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs observed. There is age-appropriate wear to the gold gilt, particularly on the finial and handles. Close-up photographs are included to show the gilt and condition clearly.
The underside retains the original Meito China "Made in Japan – Hand Painted" backstamp.
