Up for sale is a beautiful, vintage 1953 Wedgwood Embossed Queen's Ware lidded trinket/candy box commemorating the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. This piece features a crisp, light blue/lavender bas-relief profile portrait of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh encircled by a detailed laurel wreath on a cream-colored glazed earthenware body.Unlike the more common 4-inch square versions, this is the larger, harder-to-find rectangular model. It is fully stamped on the bottom with the historic "Of Etruria & Barlaston" hallmark and the specific "1953" production year.Dimensions:

Lid & Interior: The removable lid is in excellent vintage condition. The blue embossed portrait and surrounding leaf reliefs are incredibly crisp, entirely intact, and free of chips or scuffs. The interior of the base is clean and stain-free.
Underside Base: The very bottom underside exhibits significant glaze crazing (fine spiderweb-like lines in the top clear glaze layer), which is very characteristic of mid-century Wedgwood Queen's Ware of this age.
