Vintage 1960s Wonder Mobile 🐴 Asahi Japan NOS Horse Horseshoe Googly Eye Mobile For Sale

Five fluorescent horse heads, each one framed by its own horseshoe, still sealed on the original Wonder Mobile card - item no. PA-309, made by Asahi of Japan. Wiggle eyes, bridles, a wire and ring meant for hanging, and a card that\'s never been opened.

The card\'s foot line reads ASAHI, N.Y. 10010. Five-digit ZIP codes started July 1, 1963, so this printing can\'t be older than that - a 1960s piece. That same 10010 ZIP sits inside Manhattan\'s Flatiron district, home for most of the century to New York\'s toy trade - the Toy Center building on Fifth Avenue filled with toy-company showrooms from World War I on and hosted the yearly Toy Fair, and trade press called it \"The Toy Center of the World.\" Asahi Toy Co. was founded in Tokyo in 1948 and was one of the postwar Japanese firms exporting toys and novelties to the American market - this mobile is a small piece of that trade.
