Lot of five original vintage Hawaii travel and tourism brochures/maps from the early 1970s, featuring Honolulu, Waikiki, Oahu and Kauai.
Included are:
• Honolulu-Waikiki Tourmap 1974 – colorful fold-out tourist map with a wonderfully illustrated large map of Honolulu and Waikiki, period hotels, businesses, attractions, restaurants and transportation information.
• Paradise Park, Manoa Valley, Honolulu – colorful brochure for the former Paradise Park tropical attraction at 3737 Manoa Road, featuring photographs of the gardens, tropical birds, performers and grounds.
• Windjammer Dinner Sail / Adventure in Paradise – advertising the barquentine California, described as Hawaii’s world-famous “Square-Rigger,” with Waikiki and Diamond Head sailing information.
• Scenic Wailua River / Fern Grotto – Waialeale Boat Tours brochure from Kauai featuring the Wailua River, Fern Grotto, Hawaiian musicians and period photographs. Printed notation on the brochure reads “35M 10/72,” dating it to 1972.
• Hilton Hawaiian Village Catamaran Sails – colorful period brochure advertising dinner and daytime catamaran cruises from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, with English and Japanese text and a Hilton Hawaiian Village weekly schedule on the reverse.
A terrific group of original Hawaiian tourism ephemera from the era, especially appealing for the large and colorful 1974 Honolulu-Waikiki map and documentation of several historic or long-gone Hawaii attractions and activities.
