Vintage 1976 Sister Berta Hummel “Sacred Journey” Christmas Music Box – Made in Italy by ANRI for Schmid Bros.
A wonderful vintage Hummel collectible dating to the 1976 Christmas season. This wooden music box features the “Sacred Journey” artwork by Sister Berta Hummel reproduced on the lid and was produced in Italy by renowned woodcarver and collectible maker ANRI for Schmid Bros.
The original underside label identifies this as the 1976 Edition and states that “Sacred Journey” was the fourth Christmas music box in the series. According to the original label, the scene was created by Sister Berta Hummel as a gift for her family, with permission to reproduce the artwork granted by her mother and legal heir, Viktoria Hummel.
The music mechanism has been tested and is fully working, playing the traditional Christmas song “Joy to the World.”
The hinged wooden lid opens to reveal an interior compartment with a red-lined storage area, making this both a collectible music box and a charming decorative keepsake.
