- Bears a 13¢ \"Eagle & Shield\" definitive stamp (Scott # variable, blue/red/white design with \"ONE NATION INDIVISIBLE\" & \"E PLURIBUS UNUM\").
- Beautifully engraved text on the front: \"The Inaugural Committee requests the honor of your presence and participation in the Inauguration of Jimmy Carter as President ... and Walter Mondale as Vice President ... on Thursday the twentieth of January ... in the City of Washington.\"
- Classic cream-colored envelope with official Inaugural Committee seal/logo (Capitol building vignette).
