ORIGINAL GERMAN VINTAGE CAR BADGE
This is an original vintage oldtimer badge, made in Germany and associated with a car or motorcycle club rally, touring competition or vintage vehicle event.
Badges of this type are part of the long European tradition of automobile clubs, motorcycle clubs, organized tours, rallies and historic motoring events.
They were generally issued to participants, club members or event officials and were not normally available as commercially produced souvenirs. This historic background gives each surviving badge its own character and collector appeal.
ADAC and other automobile-club touring competitions, oldtimer rallies and vintage car events traditionally welcomed a wide variety of vehicles rather than being limited to one particular manufacturer.
This broad European motoring tradition includes classic cars from Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Opel, Ford, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Volvo, Jaguar and Lancia.

Today, original period badges are collected as genuine pieces of motoring history. They can be displayed on a suitable classic car or motorcycle, or presented as part of an automobilia collection.
Depending on its dimensions and mounting points, the badge may be fitted to a radiator grille or displayed in a garage, showroom, workshop, display cabinet or private collection.
This is an original vintage item and is therefore not in new condition.
