The intricately designed handle is structurally modeled after a 17th-century South German hunting knife handle housed in the museum's permanent collection. It exhibits magnificent, 360-degree high-relief details sculpted into two classic Biblical scenes: Judith triumphantly elevating the severed head of the general Holofernes alongside a draped architectural pillar. Other side Depicts David victorious over the giant Goliath. The base of the collar is stamped with the canonical collection mark: "© 1982 MMA". It comes paired with a durable, high-polished nickel-plated steel blade. Approximately 9 1/8 inches. Made of Cast polymer faux-ivory resin handle with a polished metal blade. The handle is cast from a premium, heavy-weight polymer resin composite meticulously formulated by the museum to mirror the organic surface texture, depth, and vintage patina of genuine aged ivory.
