This is a Two-Tone African Ebony Wood (Mpingo / Blackwood) figurine approximately 12” tall.
Design: Elongated ancestral elder figure utilizing the natural contrast of blonde outer sapwood and dark inner heartwood.
Condition: Good vintage condition with beautiful natural wood grain variations.
Please note: The base of the sculpture is asymmetrical, causing the figure to lean when placed on a flat surface.
It requires a small piece of museum putty, a felt furniture pad, or a minor shim under the lower edge to stand level and secure.
There is a minor, natural age fissure visible on the edge of the base that does not impact the main structure.
NOTE: A piece of cork was used to level the figurine for picture taking purposes.
