Beautiful vintage hand-carved African female wall sculpture/bust carved from a single substantial piece of dense hardwood.This impressive carving measures approximately 15” tall × 8” wide × 4” deep and weighs approximately 6 lbs.The woman is depicted with crossed arms, numerous carved stacked bangles/bracelets, beaded body adornment and stylized facial features. The sculpture has considerable depth and dimension and displays beautifully from multiple angles.The reverse is flattened and has a drilled hanging hole, indicating the piece was designed for wall display. Visible wood grain and hand-tool/carving marks can be seen on the reverse.Material: Dense solid hardwood. Similar African carvings are frequently described as ebony, African blackwood or other native tropical hardwoods; however, the exact wood species has not been professionally identified, so this piece is being conservatively described as hardwood.Approximate measurements:
