Vintage handcrafted anthropomorphic earthenware effigy vessel featuring a stylized human face with burnished reddish-brown clay and expressive sculptural modeling.
Likely Latin American and made during the mid-20th century in the tradition of Pre-Columbian pottery. The vessel was acquired as a Pre-Columbian piece; however, because I cannot verify that attribution, it is being sold as a vintage handcrafted earthenware effigy vessel.
Approximate measurements:
- 5¾ inches tall
- 5½ inches wide
Condition is very good vintage with normal wear from age and handling. One small puncture/opening is present on one side of the vessel (see photos). It does not detract from the appearance and has been reflected in the description.
