VINTAGE MID 20th CENTURY EARLY PRODUCTION STERLING SILVER JOHN MCCABE SILVERSMITHS MODERATE SIZED DIAMOND SHAPED MONOGRAM PLATE BELT BUCKLE FEATURING VERY HIGH DEFINITION AND INTRICATE HAND ENGRAVING.
This mid 20th century McCabe brand belt buckle was stamped with the “MCS” hallmark, so it was produced prior to the company’s merger with Sunset Trails. That puts the production date in the 1940’s or possibly the early 1950’s. The outstanding feature on this buckle is the super high detail and intricate hand engraving. The artisan who engraved this one was obviously one of the finest silversmiths on staff. There is minor natural tarnish, as would be expected on aged sterling silver. It can easily be cleaned & polished to look like new again…..but we wanted to let you make that decision. It is a MODERATE sized buckle that measures 2 1/2” x 1 1/2”, fits belts up to 1” wide and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. Shipping USPS, insured.
